The best motorhome destinations in Europe in September!

September is the month of late summer: the hustle and bustle of the summer holidays is almost gone, temperatures drop a bit and it is still lovely in most places in Europe. The perfect opportunity to catch some more sunshine and go exploring! In this blog article, you will find out where to go in September in the Netherlands, France and Italy for the best late summer activities!

The heath is in bloom again! Every year in August and September, the normally green landscapes turn purple, and nature reserves are transformed into one big colourful painting. Time to put on the walking shoes! The Veluwe is the ultimate place to enjoy the flowering heather. There is no end of walking routes here and you can also keep on pedalling by bike. The radiant centre of this nature reserve is of course the Posbank, where you can see as far as Germany on a clear day! In National Park Sallandse Heuvelrug in Overijssel, you can follow the more than 16 kilometres long Woeste Route Salland, which takes you around the Sprengenberg. Along the way, enjoy the panoramic views and stop every now and then to take in the beauty of nature. Are you out and about with the kids or do you prefer a shorter walk? Then hike the Beleefpad Brunssummerheide in Limburg! This route is only a kilometre long, but it takes you past various tree sculptures and, of course, across the vast purple heath. That is enjoyment!

On Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 September, the annual Braderie de Lille will once again take place. With a history dating back to the 12th century, this annual market has become a popular event that attracts millions of visitors every year. Thousands of vendors fill their stalls with furniture, toys, clothes and other items that are given a second life. In total, you can stroll dozens of kilometres across the market, right through the streets of Lille. As Europe's largest flea market, the Braderie de Lille is therefore definitely worth a visit! Stroll through the vendors looking for French treasures to take home, enjoy the local delicacies on offer and experience the old-fashioned sociability and intimacy of a braderie, even at an event of this size. Who knows, you might find something truly beautiful! It is certain that the Braderie de Lille is an experience to remember! 

Around Lille, stay overnight in Richebourg, Avion or in Comines at La ferme aux escargots.

The northern Italian village of Nove will be transformed into the international capital of ceramic art from 6 to 8 September during the annual Festa della Ceramica. This weekend is all about art, good food and fun - it is after all still an Italian festival. At historic locations in the picturesque centre of Nove, global artists and artisans exhibit their ceramic works, and workshops and tours are also organised. While enjoying antipasti and a glass of vino, enjoy the art, Italian hospitality and the magic of ceramic work! Not yet finished partying? The Venice Film Festival takes place in the first week of September. With all the glitter and glamour on the red carpet, the oldest film festival in the world is a special event to experience! 

Near Nove, park your motorhome at Parchegio Ex Ospedale in Marostica, Parcheggio Gerosa in Bassano del Grappa or Park Interscambio CentroBus in Vicenza, from where you can reach Venice in just over an hour.
