Where to go with your motorhome in November

The best motorhome destinations in Europe in November!

The days are getting shorter, temperatures are dropping and the sun is showing itself less and less often: winter is coming. But that shouldn't stop you from taking your motorhome on the road, because even in November there are some fun things to do in various places in Europe. Hint: it mainly has to do with light, food and wine. Read on to find out where to take your motorhome in November and where to stay!

Light during the dark November evenings

Since 2006, the streets of Eindhoven have been illuminated during the dark November nights by the colourful light festival GLOW. About 30 light artists travel from all over the world to Eindhoven, the heart of the Dutch lighting industry, to exhibit their combinations of light and art to the general public. (Light) art lover or not; for both young and old, GLOW is a fun event to visit. The changing themes are filled in by new artists every year, so young talents also attract the spotlight. With thousands of visitors each year, GLOW is one of the top five best-attended light festivals in the world, which is quite an achievement! Therefore, be prepared for a beautiful evening city walk full of impressive light shows, colourful streets and of course the pleasant atmosphere of North-Brabant!

GLOW takes place from 9 to 16 November 2024 and is free to visit. Stay overnight in Eindhoven at P+R Meerhoven or in nearby Best or Vessem.

Taste the flavour of Piedmont

Although world-famous for wines like Barolo, Barbaresco and Barbera, two other gastronomic standouts in the northern Italian region of Piedmont are still relatively unknown: the hazelnut and the truffle. The latter has an important peak period in the year, namely autumn. During the Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba, various activities are organised in which the white truffle plays the leading role. This mushroom grows underground and is actually somewhat yellow-greenish on the outside, but is also called the ‘white gold of Piedmont’. With a truffle hunter, for example, you can set off through the hilly countryside to look for the white truffles. Once found, the smell might overwhelm you, as not everyone is fond of them, but the quality of the dishes the Italians make with them is unmatched. The white truffle reflects - quite literally - the flavour of the region. With a good glass of wine, fine company and beautiful entourage, life in Piedmont is therefore delightful. Experience it for yourself!

From 12 October to 8 December 2024, taste the flavour of Piedmont at the Fiera Internazionale del Tartufo Bianco d'Alba. Park your motorhome in Alba at motorhome stopover Alba Village, or elsewhere in the region in Asti at Azienda Agricola Agripassione or in bustling Turin at Parking Caio Mario.

Celebrating Burgundy's youngest wines!

Every third Thursday of November is the day: les Beaujolais Nouveaux, the announcement of the new wine of the year. This festive event, celebrated throughout Burgundy, celebrates the end of the grape harvest and the efforts of winemakers and workers, after which the new wine sees the light of day. Take a peek at French joie de vivre: joy of life. Amid the pops of fireworks and the sounds of French music, the cork of the first new bottle of red wine is traditionally popped at midnight in several places in Burgundy. The rest of this Thursday is all about drinking, eating and celebrating. Enjoying autumnal dishes such as roasted chestnuts and mushrooms, taste the new wine and experience an unknown piece of French culture. Délicieux

Les Beaujolais Nouveaux will be celebrated on 21 November 2024. You can stay overnight at several places in Burgundy, for example in Marsannay-la-Côte at motorhome stopover Espace du Rocher, at Domaine Alain Geoffroy in Beine or at Vignerons des Terres Secrètes in Prissé.
