Although some daredevils have already faced the cold with their motorhome in the winter months, the motorhome season does not start until May for a lot of motorhome owners. The sun is already shining in a lot of places in May and in some destinations, you can even pull out those shorts! In addition, many schools have a short break in May, which means that you'll have some time to head out with the entire family. In short: there are enough reasons to go on a motorhome-trip in May! Houd daarnaast ook rekening met de oplaadtijd van de accu’s. Een grotere accu heeft een groter fietsbereik, maar heeft ook langer de tijd nodig om op te laden. 100 years of Soorts-Hossegor
In 2023, Soorts-Hossegor, a seaside resort in the south of France, will be 100 years old! Because of this anniversary, there are many sorts of activities in Soorts-Hossegor all year. According to the mayor, this is an apt way to celebrate the birthday of the seaside resort.
There are various events and activities that are taking place in May. You could be a spectator at - or maybe even participate in - the Swimrun Côte Sud Landes from the 12th to the 14th of May. During this sports race swimming and running are combined, covering a course that takes you through lakes, seas and the landscape of Soorts-Hossegor. Whether you ''only'' want to cover 5 kilometres, or face the demanding 20-kilometre course, this is an experience you will never forget!
Would you rather take it a bit easier? There are many other activities to do in Soorts-Hossegor. For example, on the 19th and 20th of May, a big ''Fête du 100tre'' takes place. During this party - completely in the style of the roaring 20's - you will see various concerts and performances on the streets of the town. A couple days later, from the 22nd to the 25th of May, you can have a look at several circus performances at the local stadium.
Besides all these fun activities, Soorts-Hossegor is a fun seaside resort where you'll most likely encounter a lot of surfers. May is the best month to go surfing here, so be sure to dive into the sea on a surfboard! The temperatures during this time of year are in between 12°C and 19°C. Delicious food in Antwerp
Ready for the biggest food-festival of the year? From the 18th to the 21st of May, it is finally time for Antwerpen Proeft! In 2023, the 15th edition of this amazing festival will take place. During this culinary festival, several renowned restaurants, celebrity chefs, tv-chefs and young kitchen talent offer their signature dishes in the form of small bites. This means that you can try top-notch dishes for just 6 or 7 euros!
Besides all this, there are many free cooking demonstrations and workshops. You could, for example, participate in a BBQ-workshop hosted by the Weber Grill Academy. The festival takes place at the river Scheldt, so you'll also have some gorgeous views over the water! You can buy your tickets for the festival on the website of Antwerpen Proeft.
