Where to go with motorhome in March Den Bosch

The best destinations for a motorhome-trip in March!

March is the month when nature wakes up from its winter sleep, the weather becomes more pleasant and there is a lot to do in Europe again. A great month to go out! Not sure yet where to go with your motorhome? In this article, you will find three destinations that are ideal for this spring month!

Celebrate spring with Las Fallas!

In March, Spain comes alive with a number of colourful spring festivals spread across the country. Perhaps one of the most notable celebrations is Las Fallas, which takes place in Valencia. Las Fallas is held in honour of St Joseph, the patron saint of carpenters. Every year, the first activities begin on the last Sunday in February, but this street festival only really erupts on 14 March!

You will recognise Las Fallas by the huge sculptures (fallas), which are made of wood and papier-mâché. During the festival, these sculptures are displayed on (or in) the streets, where you can admire them before they are burnt during the 'cremà' at the end of the festival. This is a spectacular burning show on 19 March, celebrating the arrival of spring.

Besides admiring the sculptures, there are an awful lot of other activities organised during Las Fallas. These include parades, dance performances, music performances and, of course, fireworks show, as Las Fallas is also famous for that. One thing is certain: you will not be bored in Valencia!

You can stay with your motorhome at Valencia Motorhome stopover. This motorhome stopover is located outside the city centre, but by public transport you will be in the vibrant heart of Valencia within 45 minutes!

Walking on a former railway embankment

With mild temperatures and plants and trees starting to bloom again, spring makes it a lot more pleasant to go for a walk. Are you a hiking enthusiast and enjoy walking along varied landscapes? Then drive your motorhome to 's-Hertogenbosch in North Brabant, The Netherlands. There, you can walk across an old railway line, the Moerputtenbrug. This bridge was part of the railway line between 's-Hertogenbosch and Lage Zwaluwe. The bridge was part of the Langstraat railway line, which was meant to transport leather, peat, and sugar beets, among other things.

Nowadays, goods are no longer transported there, but you will find several hiking trails in the Moerputten nature reserve that cross the Moerputten bridge. Not only will you walk across the 600-metre-long bridge, but you will also pass swampy areas, meadows, and hike along plank paths. Don't forget your camera because you will want to capture the Moerputten bridge!

From Camperplaats Den Bosch you can easily start your walking route, but also visit the centre of 's-Hertogenbosch!

Frühlingsmarkt Herxheim am Berg

Many German villages hold frühlingsmarkten to celebrate the arrival of spring. Often, these spring markets are organised in the week preceding Easter. So too in the picturesque little village of Herxheim am Berg. This village is located in the Palatinate region and close to the town of Bad Dürkheim.

A frühlingsmarkt can be compared to a Christmas market but focused on the spring season. You will find many stalls offering different products such as works of art, flower arrangements, ceramics, and local delicacies.  Especially for the latter, this village is the place to be, as it has a number of wineries! You can taste wines there and take part in cellar tours. Stroll around and enjoy the conviviality and all the goodies in between! Tip: be sure to taste the Herxheim brandy here, also known as Herxheimer Edelbrand.

Motorhome overnighting can be done at the free motorhome stopover Festhalle.
