Stay along the sunny coast: motorhome trip Spain

The Spanish coast offers enough variety for everyone: larger cities like Barcelona and Seville, but also the smaller towns like Murcia and Gerona. Discover the differences in Spanish culture while driving from east to west - or the other way around of course - during your future road trip with the motorhome.

Gerona

For many, Gerona is the operating base for the Costa Brava, as many beaches are only half an hour's drive away! In addition, the centre of Girona is also highly recommended: the city walls are a big crowd puller, and that's not surprising with the beautiful view over the city when you walk over the wall. In addition, the Arab bathhouse is very beautiful, which was not made by the Moors, but by the inhabitants themselves. They used the Arab bathhouses as an example, which explains the Moorish appearance! For a day out of town, the many medieval villages in the area are worth a visit.

Spend the night in Girona in your motorhome at Vayreda la Devesa.

- For many, Gerona is a base from which to relax on the Costa Brava, but the city offers more.

Gerona - Barcelona | +/- 1.5 hours travel time

Barcelona is a real metropolis and offers a good mix between modern and history. Of course the works of Gaudí can be admired throughout the city, but also the Ramblas with the Mercat de la Boqueria is worth walking through. Nice neighbourhoods to wander through are Barri Gòtic, the oldest part of the city, and Gràcia, a somewhat more alternative district because of the many cultural places with often an alternative character, such as an art house cinema.

In Barcelona you can spend the night at Garcia Fària or Parking del Pueblo Español.

Barcelona - Valencia | +/- 4 hours travel time

Valencia has seen enormous growth in recent years, and that is not surprising! It has the cozy atmosphere that cities like Barcelona also have, but not (yet) the hustle and bustle. The Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias is the attention-getter in the city, a hypermodern cultural-scientific museum. In addition, at the Mercado Central you can buy delicacies to eat in the evening in the motorhome, this is one of the largest markets in Europe, so definitely worth a visit!

In Valencia you can spend the night with your motorhome at motorhome park Area Camping-car La Marina, motorhome park Valencia Camper Park or camperstop Valencia Caravan Park.

Valencia - Murcia | +/- 2.5 hours travel time

Murcia is the capital of the region of the same name. Expect a lot of beautiful and typically Spanish architecture in this city, spread all over the city! The highlight of the city is the cathedral, a mix between a Gothic and Baroque style. Not far from here is the Real Casino Murcia, one of the most beautiful casinos you will ever come across during all your travels! Here you can gamble, of course, but for a few euros you can also just admire the casino!

You can spend the night in Murcia at camperstop Parking Thader, camperpark Huerta de Murcia and motorhome park Casablanca.

- Valencia, a vibrant and very green city where modernity and history go hand in hand!

Murcia - Málaga | +/- 4.5 hours travel time

Málaga is the perfect place in Spain for a mix between beach and city. Real sights here are the Alcazaba and the Gibralfaro castle, from both you have a beautiful view over the city! The impressive Ronda with its gorge and Granada with its many palaces and gardens are famous day trips from the city.

You can spend the night in Malaga Motorhome Park Area Málaga Beach.

Málaga - Gibraltar | +/- 2 hours travel time

Gibraltar may not be the first destination you think of on a motorhome road trip through southern Spain, but still this British piece of land is worth a visit if you are in the area. Anything other than Spanish tapas? Then the fish and chips are just around the corner! The main attraction here is the Upper Rock Nature Reserve, where the only wild monkeys in Europe live!

You can spend the night in a motorhome at Gibraltar near the harbour/yacht area de Alcaidesa Marina or La Línea de Concepción. Please note that before you enter Gibraltar, you must go through passport control!

Gibraltar - Seville | +/- 3 hours travel time

Your road trip through Spain ends in romantic Seville. The city's romantic appearance is particularly evident at the Royal Palace of Seville and the Plaza de España, which was built for the 1929 World Exhibition. Now it mainly houses government buildings. While strolling through the city you will see Moorish influences everywhere in the streetscape. Enjoy the tapas and flamenco at the end of your road trip through southern Spain!

In Seville you can stay overnight with your motorhome at Motorhome Park Area Ac Seville Centro, Motorhome Park Las Razas or Motorhome Park Caravane.
