The great thing about the holidays is the fact that the run-up to them is at least as cozy. Streets are decorated, coziness is brought into the home and there is nothing better than spending evenings in front of the fireplace. Want to experience more of this winter coziness? Then be sure to visit one of the many Christmas markets in Europe! Strolling around the Christmas market and past the stalls during the day, warming up in your motorhome in the evening. That sounds cozy!

Kerststad Valkenburg: the Christmas Walhalla of The Netherlands

In Kerststad Valkenburg you will stroll through a fairytale! From November 15 until January 5 the caves of Valkenburg are transformed into a magical Christmas paradise full of lights, stalls and coziness. There is also plenty to do above ground! Walk the Twinkeltocht, stroll past the cribs and experience a Dutch Christmas market like never before.

Christmas in the historical heart of The Hague

The already romantic Lange Voorhout will become even more idyllic during the Royal Christmas Fair, from December 5 to 23. Thousands led-lights light up the Christmas market, where different sort of houses will assure you of coziness. Are you ready for warmth in the Dutch cold? Warm up in one of the themed bars, or outside with a glühwein or hot chocolate in your hand around a campfire!

In Zoetermeer, you'll spend the night at motorhome stopover De Drie Morgen, from where you can take public transportation to The Hague.

Atmosphere at its best at the Düsseldorf Christmas market

No country beats Germany's Weihnachtsmarkten, that's for sure. However, the authentic and intimate atmosphere can sometimes be lacking at large markets. But not in Düsseldorf! Because of its spread throughout the city, between 21 November and 30 December you will find stalls, bars and bonfires in various places in Düsseldorf, where cosiness swirls through the streets like the snow. Be sure to try the German mulled wine and traditional gingerbread as well, as they cannot be missed during your visit to a Christmas market!

In Düsseldorf, park your motorhome at P Rheinterasse/Tonhalle, or stay nearby in Dormagen at Parkplatz Flügeldeich.

Young and old count down to Christmas in Münster

A warm character, lots of originality and a wide range of different stalls: that is Advent in Münster, Germany. At several locations in this city, small Christmas markets are set up from November 25 to December 23, where the atmosphere is cosy and pleasant. For example, the Prinzipalmarkt shines in a golden glow and facades, churches and stores are festively decorated and illuminated. Walking from market to market you will discover cozy Münster at its best!

Back in the history of the Leuven Christmas Market

Since 1988, the Leuven Christmas Market has been one of Belgium's tastemakers. In two weeks, from December 11 to 22, thousands of people visit the heart of the town completely in Christmas atmosphere. Stalls are filled with crafts and in the winterstube you can warm up with a drink, or of course you can stroll around town and enjoy the cozy atmosphere.

Park your motorhome at Provinciedomein Kessel-Lo, from where you can easily and quickly reach the city center.

Celebrate winter in Antwerp

Antwerp is a romantic city, but during the winter months a touch of magic is added to it as well. Seven squares in the Belgian city celebrate winter: stroll around the Christmas market, strap on your ice skates for a spin around the ice and warm up in the winterbar. The Christmas tree on the Grote Markt is decorated from top to bottom, so a picture here is a must!

Just outside the center of Antwerp, you can stay overnight at Camperpark Vogelzang.

Meet Santa Claus at Santa Claus Village

A special experience in a special location: in Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi, Finland, you can meet Santa Claus! Santa Claus lives here all year round but meeting him in Christmas atmosphere is of course extra fun! The Christmas Village is also on the border of the Arctic Circle, which you can cross here. And with a little luck you can even see the northern lights! That sounds like a fairy tale for young and old!
