Spend the night along the most beautiful hikes

A motorhome stopover along a walking route is the perfect base for a great hike. Whether you are choosing for a short circular walk or choose to hike both sides of a route, there is something to be found for everyone!

1. The West Highland Way, Scotland

On the famous West Highland Way you’ll walk in 154 kilometres from Milngavie to Fort William. Along the magnificent lochs and amazing mountain peaks you brave the surroundings of Scotland. The camperstop is at Glencoe, towards the end of the West Highland Way. From here you can hike in a day to Kinlochleven or Inveroran. Within an hour drive from the camperstop you will find the Glenfinnan viaduct, also known as the famous bridge where Harry Potter and his classmates are on the train to Hogwards in the movies. With this camperstop you find yourself in the middle of rough nature in Scotland and you can experience easily a part of the West Highland Way!

2. Around the lake of Nisramont, Belgium

The marvellous lake of Nisramont is for sure worth it to explore. Is there a better way to do so than with a lovely hike? In approximately five hours you can walk around the lake and you have a chance to spot a beaver or kingfisher. The western and eastern Ourthe come together in the lake. You can swim in the lake, but if the water is a little too cold yet, a great canoe or kayak tour on the lake is also a great outdoor activity to do! Close is also the dam of Nisramont, nice to visit with the whole family!

3. A part of the GR34, France

The GR34, also called the Customs Trail, is one of the most loved long distance hikes in France. The route thanks its name to the period the customs constructed paths to guard the French coasts during the Revolution. The Bay of Morlaix is on the route. You can walk a part of the Customs Trail along the coast, for example to the fishing village Locquirec where you can visit the Roche Tombée, a beautiful beach with lots of rocks. Or go for a circular walk along the most beautiful views on the penisula of Carantec, which you can reach from Morlaix. The free camperstop is to be found close to the centre of Morlaix.

4. The hike of the Netherlands: the Pieterpad

The second stage of the Pieterpad starts at the village of Winsum and is directed towards Groningen. You can choose to walk from the camperstop in Winsum to Pieterburen, the starting point of the path, or to walk to the capital Groningen. In Pieterburen you can visit the seal centre and in Groningen the modern architecture of the Groninger Museum attracts the attention. This camperstop lies beautifully in the marina of Winsum and is a perfect base for a lovely long walk!
