Ronda

Some places don't have to do anything special to be a big draw. One such place in Andalusia is the city of Ronda. In fact, this small town is very special in its own right, and definitely a must-see to take on your motorhome tour of Andalusia. Park your motorhome at Area Ronda and go visit the city! The city sits high on a rocky plateau, cut right through the middle by the El Tajo Gorge. While visiting the Puente Nuevo, the 18th-century bridge that allows you to cross to the other side of the town, enjoy the panoramic views over the city. It is also well worth a visit to the beautiful house of the Moorish king overlooking the valley. Who knows, you might even come across some free-roaming peacocks during your visit. One of the best things to admire in Ronda, and a must-see on your motorhome-trip!

Have you always dreamed of riding a camel in the desert? It's closer than you think! You'll find the only European desert at only 30 kilometres distance of Almería. After having arrived here with your motorhome, you can park it at Route 66 Tabernas. Now, your amazing experience can start! Visit the camel farm and witness the animals from up close. While you ride through the landscape of the desert, it's almost like you have landed in the Wild West! Especially if you are on holiday in Almería with the kids, it is really worth it! It's not just any desert you'll be walking through. In fact, it has been the setting for dozens of Western movies and because of its rocky landscape, the area is definitely worth a visit during your motorhome-trip through Andalusia. There is also a marked hiking trail that is definitely worth starting. Rather than exploring the desert on foot, would you prefer to go on horseback? Then book the two-hour tour that lets you discover the desert on horseback. Apart from the sand, greenery and rocks, you can also admire the town of Tabernas. El Caminito del Rey

El Caminito del Rey is one of the most beautiful hikes of Spain! Walk over high bridges and enjoy the views over the stunning blue river, mountain ranges and greenery. This hike is an amazing experience in nature, and an activity that you will remember for the rest of your life! The hike is about 8 kilometres long and will take you around 3 hours to complete. Though the Caminito del Rey was very dangerous before, it has now been renovated and is completely safe. That's why you definitely cannot miss out on this hike nowadays! The most known (and most beautiful) part of this hike is the ''Puente Colgante del Caminito del Rey''. This wobbly suspesnion bridge connects two huge rock formations with one another. From here, you can admire the gorgeous view! Don't forget to stop to take some pictures on your way, and take a nice break with a picknick in the shadows of the trees. This unique hike is close to Málaga, so you can park your motorhome at Casa La Paz. Be suprised by all the beauty that El Caminito del Rey has on offer!

Setenil de Las Bodegas

A unique village in southern Andalusia. Whereas most white villages in Andalusia are built on top of high hills or rocks, Setenil is actually built into the rocks. It is a beautiful village that is therefore definitely known for its unusual rock houses. The most important and famous streets in the village are the Cuevas del Sol, the caves of the sun, and the Cuevas de la Sombra, the caves of the shadow. On one side of the river, you have mostly sunshine, while in the other street you can get out of the heat for a while and sit in the shade of the rocks. Both streets have many cosy restaurants and cafés with a terrace under the rocks. It is also worth taking a stroll out of the centre and climbing the stairs to the various viewpoints! Also, don't forget to take a look in one of the shops. Taking a look inside will give you a good idea of the special rock dwellings that are part of the interior, and you can buy typical local products. From the motorhome stopover Olvera you can be in the village within half an hour's drive, nice and close and ideal for a night's stay!
