The most beautiful beaches in Spain by motorhome

Sun, sea and beach: that's Spain! Visit the beautiful beaches on your next motorhome tour of Spain and enjoy cooling off in the water and then sunbathing on your towel. These beaches are among the most beautiful in Spain and the best part is: all beaches are within easy reach of a camperstop! After reading this article, your motorhome holiday in Spain can begin!

Málaga

In Málaga, in the south of Spain, you find numerous beautiful beaches. At the Area Malaga Beach camper park you stay right on the beach with a view of the sandy beach and the sea behind. On busy summer days, you'll be the first to lay down your towel on the beach! On the camperstop, almost all facilities are available, think of sanitary, wifi and electricity. From here, you can immediately join the walking or cycling route.

Do you want to discover Málaga further, then you have enough beauty in front of you! Visit the Moorish fort Alcazava, for example. Wherever you look in the fortress, you will find beautiful Arabic elements everywhere. Or climb up to the Gibralfaro Castle. The top of the castle is 130 metres high. From the castle you have a beautiful view of Malaga! Because of the climb, which is very steep, it is recommended to do this outside the hottest time of the day. Finally, the port of Malaga is one of the oldest in the world. Today, unfortunately, there is not much to be seen of it due to the many renovations and cruise ships that dock there. While strolling or sitting on a terrace, you can watch the spectacle of boats and ships passing by.

Ribadeo

In the north of the country, you will find an impressive beach near Ribadeo. It is not a beach where you quickly lay down your towel for a day at the beach. You go here for the impressive coastline. The beach we are talking about is the Beach of the Cathedrals. The rocks that you find here have arches that are sometimes more than 30 metres high, which looks very special! Every day and every time of day the rocks have a different colour, which makes it even more special. A walk along the beach is the best way to discover this impressive sight.

Ribadeo is also known as "the Indian village". This name comes from the emigrants who returned from America around 1870, as their nickname became the Indians. These Indians used the money they brought back to build schools, among other things. In addition, they treated themselves to gigantic villas. You can still admire the buildings from this era in Ribadeo.

The camperstop at Ribadeo is free. You can fill up and empty water here, and you can clean the chemical toilet.

Valencia

From Valencia Camper Park you will be on Valencia's beach in no time. At this camperstop you will find almost all facilities. Along the beach of Valencia you can take a lovely walk, but you can also take a refreshing dive in the sea. Along the boulevard, artists regularly create sand sculptures. The largest beaches of Valencia are Las Arenas and Malvarrosa, two sandy beaches which together form one long beach of 6 kilometres. If you want to avoid the hustle and bustle of the city, you can visit the beach El Saler.

In Valencia you can visit the Ciudad de las Artes y las Ciencias. Here you will find the Oceanogràfic, the largest aquarium in Europe. You should spend at least half a day here, because you can admire at least 500 species of sea creatures. In addition, there is the science museum, the opera house and the Umbracle, a beautiful garden to stroll through. Around the Ciudad de las Artes y Ciencias you will enjoy yourself for a day during your motorhome trip to Spain!

The Silk Exchange is another famous landmark in Valencia. Since 1996 it has been on the UNESCO World Heritage List. In this hall, people traded day in and day out around the fifteenth century. You will also find plenty of Spanish delicacies at the Central Market of Valencia.

San Sebástian

In the Basque town of San Sebástian you can spend the night just a short distance from the beach. The camperstop is equipped with spots for filling and emptying water and for cleaning the chemical toilet. On this sandy beach you can enjoy a nice beach day with a view of the green surroundings. But that is not all: the beaches are very well known among water sports enthusiasts and therefore attract plenty of surfers and sailors.

If you want to discover San Sebástian, you can learn all about Basque society at the Museo de San Telmo. The Basilica Santa María del Coro is also a beautiful church to admire. Or see the city from above and climb Monte Urgull or Monte Igueldo, which is the highest mountain of the two. You can also take a cable car up. In the evening, enjoy the most delicious pintxos, tapas and drinks at the Plaza de la Constitucion.

Visit the rest of northern Spain on this free motorhome route through the green north of the country. The route starts in San Sebástian and eventually takes you to the famous Santiago de Compostella.

Tarifa

In Tarifa, you are at the southernmost tip of the country - and therefore also at the southernmost beach! This also means that you can see Morocco on a clear day. Because it can blow hard here, it is a well-known spot among water sports enthusiasts. It's great fun to see these athletes in action when you're lying on your towel on the beach! If you would like to spot whales or dolphins, there are daily boats leaving from the harbour that take you to the places where you have the best chance of seeing the animals.

In Tarifa, you can admire one of the best preserved castles in Andalusia, the Castillo de Guzmán. On a clear day, you have an even better view of Africa here than from the beach. Or go for an immense panorama at the Mirador el Estrecho viewpoint, located just outside the centre. This point is also great for walking.
